Nearly 260 Native American artifacts almost 800 years old were recovered after a theft 40 years ago. Three artifacts have been recovered, and it renews hopes the rest of the collection will soon also be recovered. The heist took place at the University of Alabama Moundville in the Erskine Ramsay Archaeological Repository when the items were taken. The items were excavated in the 1930s, where one of the largest prehistoric Native American settlements in the U.S. was discovered. The combined value of the artifacts is estimated to be around $3 Million. Although none of the $25,000 reward money has been paid out, investigators are optimistic this find will lead to the remaining collection.
